Troy Douglas
Funeral Director and Owner
Troy Douglas is the owner and funeral director of Odean Colonial Chapel. A lifelong resident of North Platte, Troy graduated from North Platte High School in 1999 and has deep roots in the community. After earning his degree from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 2023, Troy fulfilled a long-time goal of serving families in their time of need by purchasing Odean Colonial Chapel in 2025.
Odean Colonial Chapel is a true family business, supported by Troy’s wife, Lyndsey, and their three daughters: Brooklyn, Raegan, and Josie. Together, they are proud to call North Platte home and to serve the community they love.
Troy is dedicated to providing thoughtful, respectful care to families during some of life’s most difficult moments. He takes pride in ensuring each service reflects the unique life it honors. Being able to live, work, and raise his family in his hometown makes his work all the more meaningful.
Amy Kaufman
Funeral Assistant
Amy Kaufman serves as a compassionate member of the funeral home team, dedicated to supporting families during some of life’s most challenging times. With a calm presence and strong attention to detail, she assists families with care, respect, and sensitivity, ensuring each service honors the life and wishes of their loved one.
With 26 years of customer service experience, Amy is committed to providing comfort, understanding, and dependable support.
Guided by empathy and respect for tradition, Amy finds fulfillment in helping create meaningful services that celebrate life and bring comfort to those grieving. She is proud to be part of a team that values trust, excellence, and community.
When not at work, Amy enjoys spending time with her two daughters and two grandchildren, who bring her endless joy.

Jim Conner
Funeral Director
Jim Conner has been a licensed funeral director, serving the profession since 1990, in North Platte, Ogallala, and the surrounding communities. Jim is a native Nebraskan, and a graduate of Kearney State College, Mid-Plains Community College, and Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. Jim lives in North Platte, with his wife Chris, where he has made his home since 1978.
Jim is a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities including Sunday School teacher, Trustee, and Deacon. He is also a member of Platte Valley Lodge #32 AF and AM, where he was Master of the Lodge in 1999 and 2012; Scottish Rite, Valley of Lincoln; Sesostris Shrine; Walla Walla Lodge 56 IOOF; York Rite; and Odd Fellows High Rise Housing Board of Directors; and a Life Member of the NRA. He has also participated in the North Platte Municipal Band for many years.
Jim and his wife, Chris have been married for over 40 years. They share their home with their cat, Finnegan. They have two adult children and their spouses; and several fur grand-kids.
