After earning his degree from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 2023, Troy fulfilled a long-time goal of serving families in their time of need by purchasing Odean Colonial Chapel in 2025.

Odean Colonial Chapel is a true family business, supported by Troy’s wife, Lyndsey, and their three daughters: Brooklyn, Raegan, and Josie. Together, they are proud to call North Platte home and to serve the community they love.

Troy is dedicated to providing thoughtful, respectful care to families during some of life’s most difficult moments. He takes pride in ensuring each service reflects the unique life it honors. Being able to live, work, and raise his family in his hometown makes his work all the more meaningful.

McConnor Coon

Funeral Assistant

McConnor Coon is a compassionate Funeral Assistant at Odean Colonial Chapel, where she feels honored to serve families during one of life's most difficult times. Her passion for funeral service began at a young age, when she started working in the field while still in high school and has now gained four years of meaningful experience helping families with care and understanding.

In addition to her work at the chapel, McConnor previously volunteered at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, an experience that deepened her respect for service and remembrance. She is currently completing her general education courses in preparation to enroll at DMACC, where she plans to pursue her degree to become a licensed funeral director.

Outside of work, McConnor treasures time with her young daughter and enjoys making memories together.  She is also happily engaged and looks forward to marrying her fiancé, Thad, in 2026.
