Tom Bailey

T homas "Tom" Bailey of North Platte passed away November 8, 2023, at Great Plains Health at the age of 63.

Tom was born December 14, 1959, to Cecil and Kathleen Bailey at North Platte where he grew up.  After graduating from NPHS in 1978, Tom moved to Philadelphia for a while then returned to North Platte.  He worked at Cash-Wa Distributing then hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad and retired as an Engineer.

On June 20, 1989, Tom married Yvonne Kay Ahrens in North Platte where they resided and raised a family.  Tom enjoyed fishing and following his kids in their various activities.  He is gone too soon and will be forever loved and missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and Cecil, and brothers, Mike and Greg Bailey.

Tom is survived by his wife, Yvonne, children, Drew and Kyla Bailey, and brothers, Pat Bailey (Wende) and Kelley Bailey (Janean Dorram), all of North Platte; his sisters, Brenda Deertz (Neil) of North Platte, Lisa Johns (Mark) of Chicago and Sharyl Poletti (Dave) of Philadelphia; as well as other family.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Pastor Daniel Ramsey officiating.  Burial will follow in the North Platte Cemetery.  Visitation is prior to the service at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.
