Terry Fletcher Sr.

Terry Boyd Fletcher Sr., 76, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on September 22, 2026, at his farm with family by his side.

Terry was born on June 22, 1950, in Ainsworth, Nebraska, to Lawrence Fletcher and Nadine Boyd. He was also raised with the help of his stepfather, Harold Rolf after the passing of his father. Terry graduated from Centura High School in 1968 and went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1974.

During his time in the Navy, Terry served as a Second Class Combat Photographer aboard the USS Lynde McCormick and worked as a boiler technician aboard the USS Floyd B. Parks. His military service took him to several foreign countries, including Vietnam, and he received the Vietnam Medal and Bronze Star. Of all the places he visited during his time in the Navy, Hong Kong was his favorite.

Following his military service, Terry worked for Union Pacific Railroad from 1974 until his retirement in 2010. He also taught HVAC and welding night classes at Mid-Plains Voc-Tech College.

In 1975, Terry married Pamela Jo Collins, and together they had three children. They later divorced. Terry married Kathleen (McConnell) Fletcher on May 11, 1996, in North Platte, Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Fletcher; his daughter, Bridget (Dave) Collins; his stepdaughters, Alicia Petska, Sarah Cardenas, and; his sons, Terry (Bobbi) Fletcher and Stacey Fletcher; and his stepsons, Kevin (Karen) Petska, Adam (Dawn) Petska, Lance (Alexa) Petska, Brandon Petska, and stepdaughter in law Michelle Petska.

He is also survived by his sisters, Vicky (Gary) Jones and Phyllis Fletcher; his brothers, Lawrence “Batman” Fletcher and George Fletcher; 31 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Terry was preceded in death by both of his parents; his grandsons, Conner, Dawson, and Colton Gentry; his stepchildren; Amanda Petska; and Shane Petska.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Maxwell Gun Club, “His Happy Place.” Contributions may be made through Sandhills State Bank, located at 203 S. Dewey, North Platte, NE. Please write “Terry Fletcher” in the memo.

A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.

Friends and family are welcome to stop by Odean Colonial Chapel to sign the memorial book. There will be no visitation, per Terry’s request.
