Sonia Arterburn

S onia A rterburn, age 57, of North Platte, died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney on November 1, 2021, after a short battle with cancer.

Sonia was born to Ralph and Virginia Fischer on June 1, 1964. She was born and raised in North Platte, where she has lived all her life. Sonia later worked at the Hump Restaurant and other restaurants in town until her health declined.

On June 25, 1983, Sonia married Wayne Arterburn and they had two children. She enjoyed crafts and cooking and loved her family and her dogs. Sonia especially loved her grandkids, they were the apples of her eyes.

Sonia was a kind, giving person who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Virginia Fischer.

Sonia leaves behind her husband, Wayne, and son, Josh Arterburn, of North Platte; daughter, Jessica (Steven) Spencer, of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Kayden and Damon Arterburn; siblings, Carol (Vincent) Brehm, of David City, Rodger Fischer, of North Platte, Randy (Tarea) Fischer, of Hays, KS, and Ronnie Fischer, of Las Vegas, NV; and other family.

Cremation was chosen. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Odean Colonial Chapel. The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com or prior to the service at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
