Sharon Beisner, of North Platte, died suddenly at Great Plains Health on Friday, May 31, 2019, at the age of 79.
Sharon was born March 10, 1940, to Bud and Cleo Leonhardt at Sutherland. She grew up in Paxton then moved to Sutherland where she attended high school, eventually earning her GED.
On November 17, 1957, Sharon was united in marriage to Ronald Beisner in Sutherland. The couple made their home in North Platte and had three children. Sharon stayed home with the kids and when they were older, she went to work for Mid-West Office Supply. Sharon later worked at Lincoln Elementary School and was there for 24 years, first as a teacher's aid then the secretary for a long time and eventually she worked in the library. Sharon enjoyed being around the children and working at school.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and UMW Circle #1. Sharon was also a member and Past President of the Flatlander Car Club. She loved being outside in nature and watching birds and going on trips. Most importantly, Sharon loved her family.
She is survived by her husband, Ron, Sr., of North Platte; children, Ron, Jr. (Kathy) Beisner and Lisa McNeel, of North Platte and Rick (Sally) Beisner, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Jeri (Gary) Funk, of Sutherland; brothers, Doug (Debbie) Leonhardt, of Lake Havasue, Arizona and Donnie (Tammy) Leonhardt, of Azle, Texas; as well as several nieces, nephews and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Cleo Leonhardt.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church with their friend and chaplain, Gary Smith, doing the service. Burial will follow in the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
