Sharlene Scranton

S harlene S cranton, age 81, of North Platte, died unexpectedly at Great Plains Health on Friday, October 30, 2020.

Sharlene was born October 19, 1939, to Allen and Lila Sutter in Lincoln where she grew up and graduated from high school.

On December 13, 1958, Sharlene married Richard Scranton in Lincoln. They moved to Buffalo, New York, then to Denver in 1977. After they divorced, Sharlene eventually moved to North Platte in 2002 where she was a member of Cross of Christ.

Sharlene was a Christian woman and a Cornhusker fan. She enjoyed baking and always looked forward to the 4th of July and Christmas.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Scranton; her parents, Allen and Lila Sutter; sister, Darlene Larsen; brother, David Sutter; and ex-husband, Richard Scranton.

Sharlene is survived by her children, Kevin Donnelly, of Lincoln, Richard (Tonya) Scranton, of Aurora, CO, Debra Walkinshaw and Brenda Mayer, of North Platte, Jennifer (Phillip) Hyde, of Vermont, and Vicki (Rick) Hinton, of Maryland; sister, Linda Tenbrink, and brother, Danny Sutter, both of Colorado; as well as 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and other family.
