Scott Edward Marland

Scott Edward Marland, 59, of Decatur, Illinois passed away on August 19, 2025.

Scott was born on March 21, 1966 in Ogallala, NE. He lived in Ogallala and Hyannis, NE until the spring of 1976, when his family moved to North Platte. He attended North Platte High School and, after graduation, went to Tulsa Welding School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Following school, he moved to Decatur, IL where he started his career in welding. Scott was hired to build handlebars for Harley Davidson for a few years in Lincoln, NE and then returned to Decatur where he continued welding until his lung cancer forced him to retire in 2025.

Scott lived his life on his own accord and had a huge heart. Scott enjoyed welding, motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. He had a special love for his favorite dog, Pupstar.

Scott is preceded by his grandparents, R.T. and JoAnn Marland and Jack and Martha Hill

Scott is survived by his parents, Robert (Skip) and Eileen Marland.

A private family graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Floral Lawns Memorial Garden. Odean Colonial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of floral arrangements, memorials are suggested to Pawsitive Partners.
