Sandra "Sandee" Berggren

O n June 30, 2023, at the age of 74, Sandra Kay "Sandee" Berggren peacefully passed away surrounded by her family.

Sandee was born August 24, 1948, to Ben and Clara Lee in North Platte.  She grew up in North Platte where she was a life long member of First Christian Church.   Sandee graduated from NPHS with the Class of 1966 then attended business school.

On July 31, 1970, Sandee was united in marriage to Russell Berggren in Lakewood, CO, where they lived until returning to North Platte the following year.

Sandee worked various jobs over the years, beginning as a desk clerk at the old Pawnee Hotel, then in food service at Buffalo Elementary and Madison Junior High, and later was a cashier for Shopko until they closed.  But her favorite thing was being a mom and a homemaker.  Along with her family, Sandee loved animals and flowers and enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Ben Lee; and sister-in-law, Beth Lee.

Sandee leaves behind her husband, Russ, and their children, Christopher (Amy) Berggren, Kelli (Todd) Smith and Jenifer (Chris) Foust, all of North Platte; siblings, Bruce Lee of Middletown, MA, and Karen Killham of Lincoln; grandchildren, Justin, Madilyn, Alex, Clare, Raven, Ransley, Reece and Riley; great-grandchildren, Parker and Grant; her aunt, Dorothy Miller of LaVista; and many extended family members.

Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Jean Anderson officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Ft. McPherson National Cemetery.  The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com or at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.  Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
