R uth T orres peacefully passed away in the arms of her husband on November 28, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. She was 62 years old.
She was born January 29, 1962, at Toppenish, WA, to Pastor Carlos and Eustacia Ramos and was raised by Reverend Joseph and Augustina Morales. She grew up in Washington and graduated from Toppenish High School.
In 1991 Ruth married Jose L. Torres at Prosser, WA, then moved to North Platte. She graduated from Mid-Plains Community College with her CNA degree then worked at Centennial Park Retirement Village. In 2006 working together, Ruth and Jose started the Mexican store, Los Abuelos, and Torres Construction.
She attended Spanish Assembly of God Church and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She loved her family, especially her grandkids, and loved watching them fish. Ruth will always be loved and forever missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Eustacia Ramos, and Joseph and Augustina Morales; and brother-in-law, Virgil Cruz.
Ruth leaves behind her loving husband, Jose; children, Sergio Torres and Jennifer Torres of North Platte, Marko Torres of Chicago, IL, and Rosario Torres of Lincoln; grandchildren, Maria Elena Guadalupe, Ruthie Renae Torres and Theodore Torres; her siblings, Roel Ramos (Becca), Rudolfo Ramos (Amalia), Reynold Ramos (Eva Lani), Rosie Ramos (David), Rita Cruz, Rebecca Mendez and Rachel Ramos, all of Washington; and many other family members.
Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, December 5, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Father Sagar presiding. Burial to follow in the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation is prior to services at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com. Memorials are to the family.
