R oger L ickliter was born in Hastings, NE, on May 26, 1953. He passed away at home in Sutherland surrounded by his family on June 20, 2025, at the age of 72.
Roger, son of Harry and Ann Lickliter, grew up in Oakland, CA, and Lincoln, NE, where he graduated from Lincoln High School then attended Southeast Community College. Roger made his career working as a press operator. He started at Back to the Bible Broadcasting in Lincoln then worked for Pro-Printing in North Platte from 2001 to 2014. After retiring he did custodial work at First United Methodist Church in North Platte from 2015 to 2016.
On August 1, 1975, Roger married Mirdza "Mitzi" Majorins in Lincoln and they later moved to Sutherland. The couple had four children and were together for 50 years.
Roger enjoyed attending Hope Baptist Church in Sutherland and he liked to fix things. He especially enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his grandkids. Roger was a good and loving husband, father and grandpa who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis.
Roger is survived by his wife, Mitzi; sons, Matthew (fiancee Brittney Swaink) of Lincoln, Mark (Nicole) of Council Bluffs, IA, and Micah of Sutherland; daughter, Cassandra Carton (Jonathan) of Rock Island, IL; 12 grandkids, a great-granddaughter and other family.
Services are Friday, June 27, at Hope Baptist Church in Sutherland. Visitation is 10 a.m. with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Memorials are to Fresenius Kidney Foundation. Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
