Robert "Bob" Shepherd

Robert "Bob" Dean Shepherd, born December 31, 1943, passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 82.

Bob graduated from North Platte High School and proudly served in the Air Force.

He played guitar throughout his life, playing with his buddies into his early 80s. He also had the special opportunity to play a gig with his son, Brad. He enjoyed playing pool and riding his bicycle, while also participating on a darts team and in a pool league. He recently began dabbling in science-fiction writing.

Though very sick in his final years, Bob always enjoyed a good, long conversation with his family and friends. His mind remained sharp until the end, as did his exceptional memory and playful sense of humor.

In his final months, he found happiness sitting at Cody Park for hours, surrounded by nature. He especially loved watching the elk and enjoyed seeing families together.

Bob is survived by his three children, Kari, Brad, and Justin; his brother, Jim; and many other family members and friends.

He will be remembered by everyone who loved him.

Funeral services will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at a later date.
