R ita U nderwood, formerly of Colorado, passed away at Great Plains Health in North Platte, NE, on February 23, 2024, at age 72.

Rita, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Coy, was born May 6, 1951, at Meadow Bluff, West Virginia.  She grew up in West Virginia, Ohio and Colorado.  Rita graduated from Arvada High School in Colorado then became a CNA and worked in nursing homes.  She later worked at a daycare and was a volunteer at Victory Church and Servants Heart Church in Colorado.

Rita was a kind and giving person who liked simple things.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, where she lived and at the Senior Center, and she liked going to garage sales.  She especially loved being a stay-at-home grandma.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Coy; her mother and stepfather, Mary and Glenn Kirscht; brother, George Coy; and daughters-in-law, Carolyn Gann and Michelle Gann.

Rita is survived by her children, Tom Gann (Andrea) of North Platte, Joe Gann of Derby, KS, Bob Gann of Grove, OK, and Autumn Hayes (Jeremiah) of Denver; grandchildren, Angela Gann, Kenny Gann (Lizzeth), Nick Gann, Tyler Gann, Megan Collinson (AJ), Robert Avery, Brandon Cole (Azaria), Sophia Cole, Kaela Jeffrey (Zach), Lorelei Hayes, Allen Gann, Jesse Delavega, Raymi Youngblood and Ashlee Ballard; great-grandson, Aiden Jeffrey; her sister, Teresa Fetting of Hartsel, CO; niece, Holanie; nephews, John and Derrick; and other family.

Celebration of Rita's life will be held at a later date.  Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.  Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
