Rhonda Gottula

R honda G ottula was born June 30, 1957, to Dean and Maxine Gottula in North Platte where she was raised.  She was 67 years old when she lost her battle with illness on August 17, 2024, while residing at the Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman.

Rhonda graduated from N.P.H.S. in 1975 then began her caregiving career.  She worked for Linden Manor Nursing Home then moved to Albuquerque, NM, to care for Mrs. Clark.  Rhonda returned to North Platte two years later and worked in different nursing homes, then Great Plains Medical Hospital for 12 years and later for Home Instead.  Rhonda also became her mother's caregiver until she passed.  Because of her own health problems, Rhonda retired.

Rhonda was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and had a deep faith in God.  She put the needs and cares of others before her own and family always came first.  Heaven has now gained a compassionate and beautiful soul.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her beloved dogs, Parker and Fluffy; her parents, Dean and Maxine; sisters and their husbands, Sandra and Don Trisdale, Deanna and Dale Micklevitz and Marsha and Steve Caudillo; brother, Rodney;  sisters-in-law, Nancy Gottula and Patty Knight Gottula; nephew, Rob Gottula; and niece, Kimberly Krieber.

She is survived by her siblings, Valerie Brouillette (Rolan, Jr.) and William "Billy" Gottula (Beverly) of North Platte, Ronald Gottula of Thermopolis, WY, and John Gottula (Misty) of Shepherd, MT; sister-in-law, Debbie Nichols of Grand Island; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other family.

Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 24, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.  Burial to follow at Plainview Cemetery.  Visitation is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.  Memorials are suggested to the church or the Hester Memorial Home.

For those wishing to visit with family, family will be at 417 S. Tabor Street in North Platte from Thursday through Saturday.
