Raymond Lee Glassburn, 94, formerly of North Platte, NE, passed away at the Hospice of Wichita Falls in Texas on Monday, May 14, 2018.
Raymond was born June 23, 1923, at Anthony, Kansas, to Charles and Emma Glassburn. He grew up on a farm near Anthony and attended country school. After living in Wyoming and Colorado, the Glassburn family settled in North Platte in the mid '50's. Raymond had learned to work as an auto detailer in Colorado then worked for a Chevy dealership in North Platte. He later continued his work in Kansas and Colorado before returning to North Platte where he retired at the age of 62.
Raymond and Ivon were members of the Church of Christ on Walker Road. They shared a strong faith in God and began each day reading the Bible and having a cup of coffee. They were married for over 65 years when Ivon died in 2013. In 2016 Raymond moved to Texas to be closer to his son.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Rae Ann Glassburn, of Wichita Falls, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and other family.
