Pat Reckard

P atrick R eckard of North Platte died unexpectedly on October 31, 2023, at age 70.

Pat, the son of Robert and Lois Reckard, was born March 2, 1953, in North Platte where he grew up.  After graduating from N.P.H.S. in 1972 he attended college in Sterling, CO, for a year.  Pat came back to North Platte then moved to Salt Lake City for a short time before returning home.

In 1977 Pat hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad, working as a Fireman/Oiler.  He retired from the railroad in 2013.

On May 23, 1981, Pat married Melinda Peal in North Platte where they resided and raised a family.  Pat was an avid bowler for many years.  He was a past member of the Lincoln County Bass Masters Club and Jaycee's.  Pat enjoyed playing cards, watching Westerns, and his favorite teams were the Huskers and Royals Baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Peggy Reckard.

Pat is survived by his wife, Melinda, and sons, Brady Reckard and Kelsey Reckard of North Platte; daughters, Charity Hansen (Bubbi) of Lincoln and Tiffany Hill (Jeremy) of North Platte; grandchildren, Lark and Luka; his sister, Robin Reckard of North Platte; and other family.

Cremation was chosen.  Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 6, at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Michael Evans officiating.  The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com or at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.  Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
