B etty P at H arper, of Hershey, NE, passed way at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg on March 31, 2022, at the age of 84.
Betty was born to Kathleen and McKinley White, Sr. on September 6, 1937, near Macbeth, West Virginia. She grew up in a small mining community where her family worked in the coal mines.
Pat eventually moved to Colorado and later met Robert 'Bob' Harper, who was working for the Union Pacific Railroad. The couple married and for over 40 years Pat and Bob built and enjoyed their lives together in Hershey, Nebraska.
Pat worked outside the home and in the community but through the years she preferred her role in the home. She enjoyed spending her time traveling, gardening and hosting football parties with Bob. Pat welcomed company with a friendly smile and always had a cup of coffee and an open chair at her kitchen island ready for a stop from a visitor.
Pat always had a listening ear, strong shoulder, and words of wisdom to share with others. She enjoyed her role as caretaker and was good at it. Pat loved and cared for Bob, her garden, and her animals - turkeys, birds and especially her dog.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; five brothers; and her son, Perry Collman.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Harper, of Hershey; as well as other family, her friends, and friends who became her family.
In keeping with Pat's wishes, cremation was chosen. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the Hershey Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
