Opal Johnson

Opal Harriet Johnson, 68, of Axtell, NE, formerly of North Platte, NE, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, NE. Opal was born December 23, 1946, to Ollie Cullen and Opal Alice Barnum Johnson at Maywood, NE and grew up in North Platte. Due to an injury at an early age, Opal was cared for by her family until she moved to the Beatrice State Home and later to Bethphage Mission in Axtell. Opal will be missed by her sister, Elizabeth Blaylock, and brother, Ronnie (Judy) Johnson, all of North Platte; and other family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Opal; brothers, Roy, Cecil and Robert Nichols and Boyd and Harold Johnson; and her sisters, Frances Ann Johnson, Mae Etta J. Martin and Virginia Johnston. Cremation was chosen and a private family inurnment will be in the Maywood Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.
