Michael Carreras

M ichael C arreras, age 59, of North Platte, died unexpectedly in North Platte on September 12, 2021.

Michael was born at Pine Ridge, SD, on January 4, 1962, then was adopted by Carl and Margaret Carreras and grew up in Hershey and North Platte. While in high school, Michael wrestled and medaled at State. He graduated from NPHS in 1981.

Michael worked various jobs over the years including on Richardson's Ranch then for the meat packing industry in Kansas and for American Door Company in North Platte. He was married to Julie Olson for a while and they had a son, Carlos.

Michael was an avid Husker fan and Raiders fan and enjoyed playing pool.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Carreras, son, Carlos Carreras, and sister, Carol Carreras, all of North Platte; brother, John (Sharon) Carreras, of Sioux City, IA; two granddaughters; and other family.
