Mark Grubbs

Mark Allen Grubbs, 64, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 11, 2026, with his loving wife by his side.

Mark was born on March 6, 1962, in Norfolk, Nebraska, to Robert and Rose Grubbs. He grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1980.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Robert Grubbs; his stepmother, Bonnie Grubbs; and his stepfather, Walter Siemsen.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Lana Grubbs of North Platte; his mother, Rose Siemsen; his brothers, Ed (Kendra Hubbard) Grubbs, Mike (Laura) Grubbs, and Greg Grubbs; his bonus siblings, Teresa (Marvin) Dixon, Mark (Danielle) Sigler, Kathy (Al) Travnicek, and Joni (Shane) Jaros; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Mark was a hardworking man who took great pride in everything he did. He owned and operated BG&S Transmissions in North Platte from 1985 to 1995. He then worked for Union Pacific Railroad from 1995 until 2003 before finishing his career as the owner and operator of Pro Roll Off, which he proudly operated from 2005 until 2026.

Known for his excellent customer service, Mark was a true professional who treated everyone with respect, honesty, and integrity. Within his circle of family and friends, he was everyone's "911." Whether you needed someone to charge a battery, change a flat tire, or simply help in a difficult moment, Mark was always there. He would even let someone move into his home—not temporarily, but forever—if they needed a place to stay. "Who ya gonna call?"

Mark embraced life with enthusiasm. He enjoyed snow skiing, race car driving, and riding motorcycles. He also loved flying and always dreamed of earning his pilot's license.

One of Mark's greatest joys was rescuing dogs. Together, he and Lana opened their hearts and home to countless dogs, giving each one love, comfort, and a second chance. Memorials are suggested to the North Platte Animal Shelter in Mark's memory to help save the lives of many more animals in need.

Friends may sign the register book from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Odean Colonial Chapel. A luncheon will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Harvest Christian Fellowship, 1501 South Jeffers Street, North Platte, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating.
