Marjorie Welsh, 90, of North Platte, Nebraska, died Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the Kearney Regional Hospital in Kearney.
Marjorie was born March 21, 1928, to Thomas and Trixie Fuqua in Yancyville, North Carolina. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1945.
In July 1945 Marjorie married LaVerne Welsh and they were happily married for 63 years when LaVerne passed away in 2008.
She is survived by two daughters, Janie Hopkins and her husband James of Kearney and Rocky Casner and her husband Paul of Glenwood, Maryland; grandson, Jonathan Hopkins and his wife Stacey of North Sioux City, South Dakota; granddaughters, Dr. Kate Thornton and her husband Michael DeLorenzo of Waban, Massachusetts and Jean Butera and her husband Larry of Ellicott City, Maryland; three great grandsons and three great granddaughters; and other family.
Along with her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Cremation was chosen. A private family inurnment will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com or with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
