Lyle Broeder

Lyle Glen Broeder, of Hershey, Nebraska, died at the age of 84, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.
Lyle was born June 25, 1933, to Louie and Agnes Broeder on the family ranch south of North Platte in Lincoln County, Nebraska, where he grew up. Lyle graduated from Curtis High School in 1952 and ranched with his dad until joining the U.S. Army in '53.
Following his discharge in 1956, Lyle returned the ranch then began trucking in 1967. On June 1, 1987, Lyle was united in marriage to Janet Louise Layher in Oberlin, Kansas, and the couple continued living on the family ranch. He loved working and fencing on the ranch and did a lot of wood work.
Lyle was a member of the Hershey American Legion Post #279.
He is survived by his wife, Janet, of Hershey; son, Marvin Broeder, of Hershey; daughter, Debra Ann and husband, Tim Mason, of Grand Junction, Colorado; five grandchildren, Patricia Broeder, Kendra Grove, Alisha Mason, Jeremy and wife, Tawnia Mason, and Joshua and wife, Julia Mason; five great-grandchildren, Taila Cochran, Jacob Mason, Benjamin Mason, Anika Mason and Alexis Grove; sister, Mildred Hoatson, of Hershey; and several nieces, nephews and other family.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Agnes; sisters, Maxine Price and Iola Broeder; and brothers-in-law, Fred Hoatson and Gene Price.
Per his request, cremation was chosen and there will be no service. Condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
