Lyle Berg

Lyle Eli Berg, age 76, of North Platte, NE, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015, at the North Platte Care Center. Lyle was born at home on June 4, 1939, to Eli and Earma Berg at Modesto, CA where he grew up. Lyle married Nita Louise Perkins in 1957 and they continued to live in the Modesto area. Lyle worked for the Ford Motor Company before going to work for Stanislaus County, CA and retired from there. He later moved to Vancouver, WA and had his own trucking company. Lyle then went to Reno, NV and worked for a trucking company that serviced Clark County. Lyle enjoyed being at the lake fishing, boating, water skiing and camping. He also liked to drive in demolition derbies and loved being with his family. He is survived by his children, Robert Berg and Staretta McNairy, of Vancouver and Johnny (Penny) Berg, of North Platte; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Peter "Butch" Berg, of Modesto; three sisters, Arloa (Edmun) Ramsdell and Deanna Jones, of Modesto and Lela Feliz, of Sacramento, CA; and other family. Lyle was preceded in death by his wife, Nita; and parents, Eli and Earma. Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be at a later date. Condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.
