Lowell Lyle Conrad

Lowell Lyle Conrad, age 91, of North Platte, NE, entered into Heaven on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Linden Court.
Lowell was born December 26, 1924, to Chauncey and Nellie Conrad in Osborne County, Kansas and grew up and attended school in the Osborne area. He graduated from Alton High School then farmed with his dad. Lowell later went to work for his uncle in a car dealership for several years before moving to North Platte in 1966 where he worked for McKay Motors as the Parts Service Manager until retiring in June 1992.
Lowell was united in marriage to Reba Louise Grimes on July 4, 1948, in Woodston, Kansas and they later adopted their son, Renwick. In 1980 Reba passed away.
On January 1, 1992, Lowell married Joy Marie Curtis Norman in North Platte where they continued to live and were members of the Berean Church. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and traveling. Lowell was also active in his church and helped with 4-H. He was a kind, wonderful person. Even as his health was failing and couldn't talk much, Lowell never forgot to say, "I love you" to his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Joy, of North Platte; stepchildren, Luana (Frank) Van Campen, of Harvard, NE, Mel (Millie) Norman, of Garden City, KS, and Duane (Pauline) Norman and Royce (Cindy) Norman, of North Platte; his brother, Eldon (Wilena) Conrad, of Waxahachie, TX; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family.
Along with his first wife, Reba, Lowell was preceded in death by their son, Renwick; his parents, Chauncey and Nellie; brothers, Niles, Milo and Doyle Conrad; grandson, Lucas Norman; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Van Campen.
Funeral Service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the North Platte Berean Church with Pastors Frank Van Campen and Jonathan Norman officiating. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will be at a later date in the Osborne Cemetery in Kansas.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore which is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may also be shared at odeanchapel.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to Maranatha Bible Camp.
