Lonnie Hartley

L onnie H artley of North Platte, NE, passed away at Great Plains Health on December 6, 2024, at age 73.

Lonnie, son of Normal and Dorothy Hartley, was born June 22, 1951, at East Liverpool, OH.  He grew up and worked on farms in Ohio then enlisted into the U.S. Air Force.  He served from 1971 to 1975 then returned to Ohio and worked construction.

On October 3, 1969, Lonnie married Patricia Steel at Lancaster, OH.  They moved to North Platte in 1976 and Lonnie continued doing construction work.  He later went to work for the U.S. Post Office and eventually retired from there.

Lonnie liked to do wood working and loved spending time with his family and being a grandpa.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy; his parents; and siblings, Kenneth Hartley and Barbara Morrison.

Lonnie leaves behind his wife, Pat; sons, Joshua (Amber) of Grand Island and Jared (Jolene) of North Platte; grandchildren, Araya, Brooklyn, Parker, Marina and Isaiah; brother-in-law, Danny Morrison; mother-in-law, Alice Steel; several half brothers and sisters and other family.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, December 13, at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.  Cremation will follow the viewing.

Celebration of life will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 17, at the Hebrew Torah Center. Inurnment with military honors follows at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.  Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.
