Lois Stutterheim

L ois S tutterheim of North Platte passed away at the North Platte Care Center on November 5, 2023, at the age of 84.

Lois was born March 30, 1939, at Lexington and raised by her mother and stepfather, Marjorie and Vernon Wells.  She graduated from Lexington High School then got married.

On April 4, 1957, Lois married George Deertz, Jr. in Lexington.  Later that year they moved to North Platte and were blessed with three children, Neil, Kevin and Laurie.  After George and Lois divorced, she married Lyle Stutterheim in 1997.

Lois worked at Joe's Dine and Dance, the North Platte Country Club and The Sands.  She loved all animals, especially dogs.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Marjorie and Vernon Wells; her father, Carl Sorenson; and her daughter, Laurie Deertz.

Survivors include her sons, Neil Deertz (Brenda) and Kevin Deertz of North Platte; grandsons, David Deertz (Cassandra Hoang) and Ryan Deertz (Kelsey); and great-granddaughter, Hazel Deertz.

Cremation was chosen.  Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 10, at Riverside Cemetery at Hershey with Job Vigil officiating.  Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.  Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
