Linda Lou Johnson, 79, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.
Linda Lou was born on February 9, 1947, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Luella and Edward Jones. She was raised in North Platte, where she attended local schools and graduated from North Platte High School. She spent her life in the community she loved and was known for her quiet strength, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family.
One of Linda Lou's greatest accomplishments was her remarkable courage in overcoming breast cancer. As a two-time breast cancer survivor, she faced life's challenges with determination, grace, and resilience. Her strength and positive spirit were an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Linda Lou had a heart for serving others. She was a dedicated member of the Ready to Serve Volunteer Program for 16 years, generously giving her time to help those in need. Her compassion and willingness to serve made a lasting impact on her community.
Above all else, Linda Lou treasured her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with those she loved, creating lasting memories, and offering her love and support whenever it was needed. She will be remembered for her caring nature, her perseverance, and the love she shared so freely.
Linda Lou is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Ron) Barnes; her sister, Judy Johnson and Ronald; her brother, Wes Small; her grandchildren, Reyanne and Camryn; and many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luella and Edward Jones; her sister, Nancy Albrecht; and her brother, Russell Small.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Harvest Christian Church. Burial will follow at North Platte Cemetery in North Platte.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time as they celebrate Linda Lou's life and the many cherished memories she leaves behind.
