Linda Kay Christenson, 77, of North Platte, Nebraska, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 31, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family in her home.

Born on March 6, 1948, in Aurora, Nebraska, to Bob and Betty Ortegren, she grew up in Marquette, Nebraska, and later moved to Millard, Nebraska, where she graduated in 1966. Linda married Gerald Christenson on February 25, 1967, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, devotion, and faith. They moved to North Platte, Nebraska, in 1970 and made it their lifelong home.

Linda spent many years as a homemaker, dedicating her life to caring for her family and helping raise her grandchildren until they were old enough to attend school. She never met a stranger and joyfully shared the gospel with everyone she could. Her home and heart was always open. She adopted anyone who walked through her door as part of the family and faithfully prayed for those she loved and even those she had just met. Linda spent many years helping lead different Bible studies, growth groups, and 4-H groups. She also loved being outside in her many flower beds, helping Gerald with their garden, and spending time in the kitchen. Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Christenson; her children Cary (Carrie) Christenson of North Platte, Sara (Arnoldo) Estrada of North Platte, and Mark (Erin Vest) Christenson of Omaha; her cherished grandchildren Chelsie (Kyle), Paige (Christian), Alex (Dylan), Danielle, Zoe (Nate), Dominique, and Ty; and her adored great-grandchildren Danny, Wesley, Burke, and Lily.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Betty Ortegren. Her faith in Jesus was her foundation, and her kindness, laughter, and unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from noon- 2:00 p.m. at The Berean Church to honor Linda and the eternal life she now rejoices in Heaven with Jesus. In honor of Linda's wishes, please dress casual with no black clothing. “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23.
