Larry Guthier, Jr.

L arry Guthier, Jr., the son of Lawrence, Sr. and Evelyn Guthier, was born in Ohio on January 31, 1947.  He passed away at home in North Platte, Nebraska, on December 10, 2023.

After he finished school, Larry enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1966.  He was stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and Fort Riley, Kansas, and had various duties including being a cook.  After his discharge in 1971 Larry moved around.  He eventually found his way to Nebraska and settled in North Platte.

Larry was a quiet man who loved his cats and took care of any stray that came his way.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include Larry's sisters, Laura (Paul) Love of Minnesota and Barbara (Paul) Battatlia and Mary Hart of Ohio; and other family.

Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, south of Maxwell, Nebraska.  Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
