Kenny Kight

Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Kight, 56, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 20, 2020.

Kenny was born in Chicago on October 12, 1963, to Percy Kight, Sr. and Lula Mae Brown Kight. He grew up in Chicago where he graduated from Richard T. Crane High School. Kenny loved playing basketball and after high school he played in tournaments around Chicago and also worked construction. In 1994 his job took him to North Platte where he worked at Baymont Transportation Services for 10 years.

Kenny was a great father and family man who was loved and respected by many. He was a Victor Herbert Legend who was taken too soon and will always be remembered by those who knew him.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Percy, Sr. and Lula Kight; brothers, Percy Kight, Jr., Albert ‘Candy’ Kight, Henry Brown and Jerry Brown; and sister, Denise Gray.

He leaves behind his children, Kenneth Kight, of North Platte, Demarqus Kight and Kinisha Kight, of Mankato, Minnesota, Felicia Brown (fiancé, Murphy Mullins), of St. Paul, Minnesota and Lula Kight, of Sioux City, Iowa; fiancée, Lethel ‘Dee’ Holmes, of North Platte; sisters, Theresa Campbell, of Milwaukee, Jeanette Coleman, of North Platte, and Sheila Kight, of Chicago; brother, Terry (Vern) Brown, of Chicago; eight grandchildren; as well as many other family members.

Cremation was chosen and the family will celebrate Kenny’s life in Chicago. The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
