Kari Turner

Kari Sophia Turner, 48, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on September 21, 2026, in her home.

She was born to Linda and Bob Fleharty on August 17, 1978, in Valentine, Nebraska. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1996. The same year she welcomed her first daughter into her life. She married the love of her life, Brad Turner, on September 18, 1999. They had recently celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary. Kari worked as the unit secretary for Labor and Delivery at Great Plains Health at time of passing. She was the longest standing unit secretary at Great Plains Health, starting employment in 1997. Kari loved each of her coworkers dearly.

Kari had a love for arts and crafts and always had a project going. She loved supporting her children in their love of sports and never missed a Turner Race, always being their number one fan. Her family was her heart and proudest achievement.

She was there for her family in every way possible, answering every text and call. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she loved spending time with them.

Kari was the caretaker and held the family together. She always had a positive attitude and a snack in her pocket for the grandchildren. She was always the first volunteer to feed a house full of people or jump in the garage and help change engines or bleed brakes, bragging about being the best pit crew there was.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Fleharty; sister, Lori Fleharty; mother-in-law, Lori Turner; and an angel grandbaby.

She is survived by her husband, Brad; children, Shyenne (Devin) Grandberry, Zane (Carlee) Turner, and Hailey (Bladen) Turner; mother, Linda Fleharty; nephews, Brandon (Kathryn) Fleharty and Cody Fleharty; brothers, Devin Fleharty and Rob Fleharty; brother-in-law, Dan (Jamie) Turner; sisters-in-law, Patti (Greg) Turner and Amy (Josh) Allen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Grandchildren, Heidi Derman, McCoy Turner, Colt Turner, Alexander Grandberry, and baby Grandberry due in December.

Services for Kari are pending.
