J oseph S chall, Sr., age 84, of North Platte, peacefully passed away at home on December 2, 2020.
Joseph was born on March 10, 1936, in Pontiac, Illinois, to Edward and Jeanette Schall, the oldest of five kids. He lived and worked in Pontiac most of his life. Joseph quit school when he was 15 so he could work to help out the family. He had worked at the Pontiac Concrete Company for many years and later drove a truck.
Joseph married Donna Lee Coller on May 6, 1961. They had five children, four girls and a boy. Joseph was so happy when his son, Joe, Jr., was born 'cause he never thought he'd have a boy since the first two were girls.
Joseph later married Rosemary McDonald then Pamela Patient and had three kids and two stepkids. Joseph loved all his family.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Cecila Lynn Bishop and Mary Schall Ramirez; stepdaughter, Freda Myers; his parents, Edward and Jeanette Schall; two brothers; two sisters; four granddaughters; and ex-wife, Pamela Bonnell.
Joseph is survived by his sons, Joseph, Jr. (Cynthia) , of North Platte, Jimmy Schall, of Hastings, Joey Schall, of Alton, IL, Charlie (Melissa) Patient, of Kearney and Olando Schall, of Cozad; daughters, Kathy (Eugene) Myers, of Osceola, Rebecca Schall, of Ainsworth and Lola Schall, of Sioux Falls, SD; former wife, Donna Schall Guerrero; as well as 32 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren and other family.
Cremation was chosen. Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at New Life Assembly with Pastor Dave Cumming officiating. The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
