James Ray Weedman, 71, of North Platte, died at home surrounded by his family on Friday, May 10, 2019.

Jim went back to being a brick layer then worked for Harris News Agency. In 1985 he bought a Rainbow Carpet Cleaning franchise and the family moved to Kearney for a short time. After he sold the business in 1989 they returned to North Platte. Jim went to work at Larry's Glass before hiring on with the Union Pacific Railroad. He started as a Switchman then became an Engineer before retiring in 2013.

Jim loved being outside golfing, elk hunting, fishing or camping and had a love for horses. He also enjoyed playing softball and played until he was 52 years old.
