Janice Arney

J anice A rney, age 82, of North Platte, passed away June 11, 2022, at Centennial Park Retirement Village.

Janice, the daughter of William and Alta Saum, was born in Maywood on June 1, 1940. She grew up in Maywood and North Platte, where she attended high school.

In 1956 Janice married Richard Dean Arney and they lived in North Platte. They moved to Colorado in 1969 and lived in Lakewood then Thornton for a number of years. Janice returned to North Platte in 1984 and went to work for Shopko and even worked at a store in Grand Island for a short time. She eventually retired in 2017.

Janice loved traveling, especially to the Grand Canyon and Black Hills, and being with her family. She also loved animals and enjoyed going to Cody Park to see the animals there. Janice was a great Mom and loving grandmother who will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and their daughter, Dallas; and her parents, William and Alta Saum.

Survivors include her sons, Rick (Paula) Arney of North Platte, Jim Arney of Lincoln and Randy (Mya) Arney of Littleton, CO; daughter, Mona (Scott) Feller of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Rodney Daugherty, Brian Hantla, Tara Tilford, Aimee (Justin) Koranda, Tiffany (Dave) Arnold, Leneise Arney and Keigan Arney; 10 great-grandchildren; and other family.
