James Carroll Boyle, 73, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on March 16, 2026, at Great Plains Hospital. He was born on January 20, 1953, in North Platte to Carroll James and Imogene Lois (Henn) Boyle.

Jim attended Cody Elementary School, North Platte Junior High, and North Platte Senior High School, graduating in 1971. That same year, he began his career with Union Pacific Railroad, where he dedicated 42 years of service before retiring in 2013.

On April 18, 1981, Jim was united in marriage to Christi Marie Corbin of Arnold, Nebraska, at First Lutheran Church. To this union, two children were born, Megan Marie and Brian Thomas.

Jim had a passion for learning new skills and was always looking for ways to improve life around the ranch. He took great pride in caring for and enhancing his cow herd. Calving season was his favorite time of year, as he delighted in watching the calves run and play in the pasture.

He was a devoted and hands-on grandfather who cherished every moment with his grandchildren—whether it was lying on the floor coloring, building with Legos, or playing with cars. Jim rarely missed an opportunity to show his love by being present, attending ball games, school events, and Christmas programs that meant so much to his family.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Christi Boyle; daughter Megan (Nick) Davis of Rapid City, South Dakota; son Brian (Jordynn) Boyle of North Platte; granddaughter Allison Davis; grandsons Zeke Davis, both of Rapid City, and Kayden Boyle of North Platte. He is also survived by his brother John (Beth) Boyle of Greeley, Colorado; sister Janet (Tim) Haith of Lincoln, Nebraska; mother-in-law Ellen Chrisp of Arnold; brother-in-law Jeff (Donna) Corbin of Arnold; sisters-in-law Cindi (Lionel) Sanchez of Huntersville, North Carolina, and Kelli (Mike) Teahon of Kearney, Nebraska; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Imogene Boyle, and his father-in-law, Jerome Corbin.
