Howard Gross, Sr.

Howard M. Gross, Sr., 51, of Sutherland, NE, formerly of California, died Friday, November 14, 2014, at Great Plains Health in North Platte. Howard was born October 28, 1963, to Harold and Virginia Lee Gross at San Pablo, CA and grew up in Concord, CA. Following his graduation from high school, Howard went to work for the Hayward Water Treatment Plant in Hayward, CA and was there for 20 years. He then started the Gross Sewer and Drain Company, working for himself as a plumber for 10 years until he became disabled and his son took over the business. Howard moved to Sutherland in August 2014. Survivors include his son, Howard Gross, Jr., of Pittsburgh, CA; a sister, Julianna (Thomas) Poorman, of Sutherland; six nieces and nephews; a great nephew; and other family. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Virginia. Cremation was chosen and his cremains will be scattered in California at a later date. Condolences can be shared at odeanchapel.com.
