Harry Mohr

Harry Mohr, age 75, of North Platte, formerly of Sutherland, passed away at Great Plains Health on Thursday, December 20, 2018.

Harry was born July 16, 1943, to George and Martha Mohr at Ogallala. When he was 5 years old the family moved to Madrid where Harry graduated from Madrid High School. He went on to work for a farmer in Hamlit, Nebraska for a few years then returned to Madrid to work for his brother, Loren, and later moved to Paxton and worked for Joe Beverage Elevator. In 1982 he became Custodian for Sutherland School and was there until retiring in 2010.

On November 25, 1978, Harry married Phyllis Joan Still in Grant. They lived in Madrid until 1982 when they moved to Sutherland. Harry was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was on the Volunteer Fire Departments at Sutherland and Paxton.

Harry enjoyed being outside eagle watching or fishing. He liked going to see antique cars, watching Husker football and volleyball, playing cards and board games, and woodworking. Harry especially loved his family and enjoyed spending time fishing with his grandkids and even taught his grandson to use the band saw.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of North Platte; son, Greg (Pepper) Still, of Hershey; grandkids, Kylor Miller, Koby Still and Makenna Still; brother-in-law, Al Fisher, of Rapid City, South Dakota; sister-in-law, Marlene Mohr, of North Platte; as well as other family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha Mohr; brothers, Loren and Roy Mohr; and sister, Ella Fisher.

Cremation was chosen. Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating. The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com or prior to the service at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the Hershey Volunteer Fire Department.
