H enry "Hank" Muehlenkamp passed away at his home in North Platte on January 30, 2025, at age 85.
Hank, son of John and Clara, was born June 3, 1939, in Burns, WY, and grew up in North Platte. He attended Platte Valley School (riding his horse) then went to high school at the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis. By the time he was 26, Hank hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad and worked until retiring.
On November 13, 1961, Hank married Joetta Cunningham at Kearney and they lived in North Platte. They were married for nearly 40 years when Joetta passed away. He later married Kathy Trosper and she passed away in 2022.
Hank loved to do wood working, fish and hunt, and hunted up to his last days.
He is survived by his children, Russell Muehlenkamp (Bobbi) of North Platte, Kathleen Kramer (Jim) of Yakima, WA, Caroline Luse of Sioux City, IA, and Cynthia VanderMeer (Peter) of Ellinwood, KS; many grandkids, great-grandkids and extended family.
Hank was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Antone and Nick; and his sisters, Katherine Mason (Bob), Clara Vencill (Fred) and Marcella Hille (Don).
