Fred Land, Jr.

Services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Odean Colonial Chapel in North Platte.

F red Land, Jr. died at his home north of Hershey on January 22, 2023, at the age of 70.

Fred was born to Fred, Sr. and Peggy Land on September 12, 1952, at Sutherland. He grew up on the family ranch north of Hershey and graduated from Sutherland High School.

Fred worked on the family ranch, drove a truck, worked for the Village of Sutherland, and did various jobs throughout his life.

He married Marilyn Swedberg and they had a son, Eric, then later divorced. Fred eventually moved back to the family ranch and lived there until his death. In his free time he enjoyed reading books.

Fred was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, George Loving, Jr.

Survivors include his mother, Peggy Land, and sister, Victoria Loving of North Platte; son, Eric Land of Clifton, CO; grandchildren, Andrew and Erica; and other family.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating.  Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
