Frances Cervantez

September 4, 1928 — September 6, 2024

F rances C ervantez was born September 4, 1928, to Rosalio and Agripina Sanchez in Chicago, IL.  She passed away September 6, 2024, at The Maples at Centennial in North Platte at age 96.

When she was young the family moved to Mexico where Frances grew up and attended school.  She married, became a mother of 2 sons, and then a widow.  Frances later married Jesse Cervantez of Hershey, NE, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  The couple raised their family in Hershey and Frances worked in Ogallala at TRW.

After retiring, Frances had more time for her hobbies such as sewing, gardening, and cooking enchiladas and holiday meals.  She loved spending time with her family and giving everyone the "benedición" blessing.

Frances was a woman of faith and will be greatly missed by all. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and sang in the choir, then later became a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in North Platte.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, and daughter, Isabell Cervantez; her parents, Rosalio and Agripina Sanchez; brothers, Isidoro and José Sanchez; and sisters, Josefina Espinoza, Maria Godinez and a baby sister.

Frances leaves behind her children, John (Rosie) Rodriguez and Lori Cervantez of North Platte and Adolfo "Rudy" (Beatrice) Rodriguez of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Priscilla (Derek) Voss, Stephanie Rodriguez, Monica (Roberto) Rodriguez-Velazquez and Natasha Martinez; great-grandchildren, Shayla, Jocylin, Annika, Lola, Madelyn, Ceven and Camila; her sister, Alvina Olmos of Corpus Christi, TX; and many other family members.

Services will be held on Monday, September 16, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.  Rosary service begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with celebrant Father Sagar.  Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.  Visitation is prior to services at the church.  Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.  Memorials are suggested to the North Platte Catholic Schools Endowment Trust.  Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
