F aye Allman, of North Platte, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at the age of 92. Following her death, Faye was laid to rest in the Ash Hollow Cemetery at Lewellen, Nebraska.
She was born to Elvin and Jeanette Cooper on October 17, 1927, in DeKalb, Illinois, where she grew up. After graduating from high school, Faye attended business school and then got married.
On April 6, 1947, Faye was united in marriage to Richard Allman in DeKalb. They first lived in Bloomington, Indiana, then DeKalb until 1959 when they moved to Denver. While in Denver, Faye worked for the Colorado Housing Finance Authority and eventually became the Director. After she retired in 1990, she and Richard moved to Morrison for a number of years then moved again in 2015 to North Platte.
Faye was a member of the Methodist Church. While in Colorado she was active with the UMW Circle then was a member of First United Methodist Church in North Platte. Faye enjoyed playing cards with the girls and was an avid reader.
She and Richard celebrated nearly 73 years of marriage and enjoyed being together, traveling across the United States and to different countries. Faye was a great wife and mother and was very proud to be a grandmother and later, a great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Jeanette Cooper.
Faye leaves behind her husband, Richard, of North Platte; daughters, Kath and husband, Craig Althen, of Bozeman, Montana and Jana Allman and husband, John Forsling, of Lemoyne, Nebraska; son, Richard Allman, of Plant City, Florida; brother, Merle and wife, Donna Cooper, of Grand Junction, Colorado; sister, Carol Prentice, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; grandchildren, Jackie and husband, Heath Monie, Matt and wife, Miriam Allman and Layna Allman; great-granddaughters, Violet and Lilac Monie; as well as other family.
