Elizabeth Blaylock

Elizabeth Blaylock, age 71, of North Platte, died unexpectedly at Great Plains Health on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

Elizabeth was born to Ollie and Opal Johnson on May 21, 1949, in North Platte where she grew up.

Elizabeth married Marion Zulkoski in Sacramento, CA, and they made their home in North Platte. After Marion died in 1979 Elizabeth wed Sterling Blaylock, Sr. on November 11, 1984, and they continued living in North Platte. They were together nearly 20 years when he died in 2003.

Years ago, Elizabeth taught Sunday School at the Berean Fundamental Church then attended New Life Assembly Church of Kearney during the ‘80’s. Elizabeth loved her family and raised her grandkids as their foster parent.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Marion Zulkoski and Sterling Blaylock, Sr., son, John Blaylock, and daughter, Loretta Buger; her parents, Ollie and Opal Johnson; brothers, Roy, Cecil, Marvin and Robert Nichols and Boyd and Harold Johnson; and sisters, Frances Ann Johnson, Mae Etta J. Martin, Virginia Johnston and Opal Johnson.

Elizabeth leaves behind her children, Sterling, Jr. (Elaine) Blaylock, of Hartsville, SC, Earl Blaylock, David (Tina) Blaylock and Debra Heckle, all of Kankakee, IL, Edward Blaylock, Sr., Roxanne Foust and Cynthia Blaylock, all of North Platte, Blaine Blaylock and Felicia Dardar, of Jackson, MO, and Cynthia Griecie; brother, Ronald (Judy) Johnson, of North Platte; as well as 7 grandkids, 6 great-grandkids and other family.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 21, at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore with Pastor Vaughn Fahrenbruck officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. McPherson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the family.
