Edwin (Ed) Dale Saighman

Edwin (Ed) Dale Saighman, 76, of North Platte, NE passed away on November 15, 2025. Ed was born on September 30, 1949 to Raleigh and Phyllis Saighman in Columbus, NE. He grew up and attended school in North Platte, NE.

Ed was married to Stephanie Kline from 1967 to 1977 and to this union, two sons were born. In 1978, Edwin married Jenna Gardner, who had two daughters- one of whom he later adopted. In 1986, Edwin married Mary Ann Krenning, who had one son and one daughter, in Las Vagas. Ed worked at the Union Pacific Railroad as a carman, where he dedicated many years before retiring.

Ed had a deep love for music. He was a talented drummer and singer in a band that traveled all over playing gigs. Ed also enjoyed taking his Corvette out for a drive, and he was an avid Husker fan.

Edwin is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jim; brother, Jim; and his sister, Judy.

Ed is survived by his wife, Mary; and sisters, Georgia (Tom) Maxwell of NP and Debbie (Gary) Cash of NP, as well as two sons and two daughters.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2025 at the City of North Platte Cemetery with Michael Evans officiating.
