Doyle Bird, 75, of North Platte, passed away at the North Platte Care Center on February 19, 2020.
Doyle was born at Plainview, Texas, on May 13, 1944, to Oran and Eula Bird. He grew up in Colorado, living in Eads and Fort Morgan where he graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1962 then began his trucking career. Doyle worked all his life as a trucker and later met the love of his life, Cindy Anderson. He and Cindy were together for over 20 years when they married in 2013 at North Platte where they made their home.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristine Bird, of Fort Morgan, Colorado; stepdaughters, Michelle (Jonathan) Craghead, of Killeen, Texas and Angala (Bill) Verley, of Mariposa, California; brother, Dale (Joan) Bird, of Loveland, Colorado; granddaughter, Carissa Bird; 10 step grandchildren and 6 step great-grandchildren; as well as many other family members.
Doyle was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy; son, Douglas Bird; and his parents, Oran and Eula Bird.
Cremation was chosen and Doyle will be inurned with his wife in Fort McPherson National Cemetery on Monday, February 24, 2020, at 1 p.m. The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
