Donna Jean (Gosnell) Weedman, of North Platte, Nebraska, went to be with her “Honey” in Heaven on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the age of 74.
Donna was born October 17, 1951 to Earl Lawrence Gosnell and Agnes Lorraine (Weekly) Gosnell in North Platte, where she grew up. After school, she went on to marry her sweetheart, James Ray Weedman, on October 27, 1968, after he returned home from basic training for the U.S. Army. She then moved to Newport News, Virginia with Jim until his Honorable Discharge and eventually settled down.
Donna stayed home to raise their two daughters until 1977, when she went to work for her brother at Larry’s Glass. She worked there until 1985, when she and Jim moved their family to Kearney for a short period of time. They returned to North Platte in 1989, where she returned to work at Larry’s Glass. In 2008, Donna was blessed with her first great-grandchild, and after 28 years as office manager, she retired to help care for Jaxon.
In her free time, Donna loved scrapbooking, painting, and doing crafts. She also enjoyed being outdoors- golfing, hunting, going to garage sales, and camping. She had a passion for traveling with her husband, family, and friends.
Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, Earl and Agnes; and her best friends, Dan and Carol Steburg.
Donna leaves behind her daughters, Shannon (Rick) Schroeder and Jeanie (Walter) Shimmin, both of North Platte; grandchildren and their spouses, Donovan (Hayley) Weedman, Jasi (Ryan) Quick, Cole Weedman and Jessica Mora, and Kyce Shimmin; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Weedman, Zaedyn Quick, Blake Weedman, Andrew Mora, Kynzleigh Quick, Coy Weedman, and Meagleigh Quick; her brothers, Larry (Elaine) Gosnell and Ralph (Mary Jo) Gosnell; and her sister, Lois Harris, all of North Platte; as well as many other family members and friends.
