O n June 6, 2022, North Platte resident Donna Traxler peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her family. She was 65 years old.
Donna was born in Kearney on October 2, 1956, to Ralph and Rhoda Moore. She grew up and attended school in Kearney where she graduated from high school.
On May 23, 1981, Donna married Johnny Traxler in Central City. They lived in Central City and Kearney until moving to North Platte in 1992. Donna and Johnny were resident managers at Prairie View Townhouses for 10 years and during this time, Donna also worked at Buffalo Bill Manor for 7 years. She was then a cake decorator at Walmart where she just received her 20 year pin.
Being a cake decorator was not only a job but a hobby she really enjoyed. Donna also liked reading and hanging out with her pet cockatiels. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Rhoda Moore; her husband, Johnny; brothers-in-law, Sam, David and Lloyd Traxler and Don Phelps; and sisters-in-law, Darlene Shea and Shirley Butler.
Donna leaves behind her children, Nicholous Traxler of North Platte and Shannon Simpson of Bismarck, ND; son-in-law, Scott Simpson of Oakes, ND; grandchildren, Mabry, Ethan and Shane Simpson; brothers, Walter and Danny Moore of Kearney; her sister, Dorie Traxler of North Platte; sisters-in-law, Linda Phelps of Kansas, Betty Traxler of Grand Island, and Heidi Traxler of Germany; brother-in-law, Jim Shea; and many other family and her friends.
In keeping with Donna's wishes, cremation was chosen. Celebration of her life will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022, at Odean Colonial Chapel.
