Donna Gibbs

D onna G ibbs, age 84, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away at Great Plains Health on August 15, 2021.

Donna was born to Merle and Dolly Razes on January 13, 1937, in North Platte where she was raised and later graduated from North Platte High School with the Class of '54.

On July 29, 1954, Donna married Bob Gibbs in North Platte. They were blessed with 55 years of marriage and three children. Donna enjoyed serving lunches at Washington and Jefferson Elementary Schools.

Donna was a member of Episcopal Church of Our Savior, the Eagles Auxiliary and Junior Old Timers Club #8 as well as a Christian women's club, bowling league, Bunco club and TOPS. She and Bob enjoyed traveling and camping with their friends and wintered a few years in Arizona and New Mexico. Donna dearly loved her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, Merle and Dolly Razes; and sister, Deana McCleary.

Donna is survived by her children, Mardell (Richard) Thompson, Rob (Joyce) Gibbs and Paul (Deb) Gibbs, all of North Platte; grandchildren, Kortney (Wes) Gilbert, Katie (Ryan) Bouc, Levi (Lindsey) Gibbs, Jessie Gibbs (Bob Gilster) and Taylor (Shelbee) Gibbs; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as other family and her close friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Episcopal Church of Our Savior. Burial will follow in the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.
