David James

D avid J ames, age 83, of North Platte, died at Great Plains Health on July 25, 2021.

David was born on a farm just east of Hershey on September 6, 1937, to Guy and Mabel James. David was raised in North Platte and attended North Platte High School, graduating with the Class of '56.

David hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad in 1957 and worked in many locations until 1970 when his job brought him back to North Platte with the opening of the new diesel shop. He continued working for the railroad until retiring as an Electrician.

David was an active member of IBEW, Eagles Aries #2839 and the Cornhusker Corvette Club.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra James; parents, Guy and Mabel James; brothers, Albert and Joe James; sister, Margaret Williams; and nephew, Ron Williams.

He is survived by his children, Richard (Bonnie) Hulse, of North Platte, Julianne (Rick) Kaiser, of Everett, WA, and David James, of Lincoln; grandkids, Jared Hulse, Rhianna (Jacob) Bowrey, Mariah Kaiser and Dane Kaiser; special friend, Nancy Maciejewski; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen and there will be no services. David will be placed in the Columbarium at the North Platte Cemetery. There will be an Open House from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, July 30, at David's home, 1804 Burlington Blvd. The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
