Dave Wengler

D ave W engler, age 74, of North Platte, passed away at Great Plains Health on November 19, 2022, following health complications.

Dave was born to Jacob and Margaret Wengler on May 11, 1948, at Roseland, NE, where he grew up. The family later moved to Hastings where Dave attended school. He went to work as a welder for T&L Irrigation building new pivots then for Overhead Door Company in Hastings and North Platte.

In 1980 Dave hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad in Maintenance of Way and worked his way up to a management position. He retired from the railroad in 2015 then had more time to enjoy fishing and camping.

Dave was united in marriage to Carolyn Krieger on March 4, 1977, in Hastings and they moved to North Platte the following year. Dave was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodges.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Margaret, and siblings, Dale, Gary, Don and Vida.

Dave is survived by his wife, Carolyn, sons, Amon Krieger and David Wengler, and other family.
