Daniel Richard Shuck Jr.

Daniel Richard Shuck Jr. Passed away at Acura Health Care in North Platte, NE, on October 11, 2025. Daniel was born on September 2, 1939, to Daniel Sr. and Hazel (Ward) Shuck in Nampa Idaho. Daniel graduated from Pocatello High school in 1957.

Daniel married Darlene Godfrey, and to this union, they had three sons, Richard, Robert, and Gary and two daughters, Janet and Donna. They later divorced. Daniel went on to marry Patricia Yonker; they later divorced as well. He then married Eloise (Jones) Shuck, until her passing in 2019.  In 2020, he married Carolyn Diedel, who preceded him in death in 2024.

Daniel worked at D&B Machine Shop as a mechanic until 1968, when he was hired as a machinist with the Union Pacific Railroad. In 1973, Daniel transferred to North Platte, where he went on to retire in 2000, devoting 32 years to UPRR. Even in retirement, Daniel never slowed down. He continued working on people’s cars and repairing them for numerous family and friends.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Shuck SR., Hazel (Ward) Shuck; Daniels infant son Richaed, his third wife, Eloise (Jones) Shuck; his fourth wife, Carolyn (Diedel) Shuck; son, Gary Shuck; brothers, Donald, Kenneth, Leslie, Willie, and Larry Shuck.

Daniel leaves behind his son, Robert Shuck; daughters, Donna Shuck and Janet (Lloyd) Lockhart; granddaughter, Roxie (Kadin) Heessel; two great grandkids and three siblings, Carol (David) Johnson, Neva Thompson, and Christy (Guy) Edmonson.

A celebration of life will be held at the Eagles club on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
